Post-Industrial Ornaments

Post-industrial Ornaments is the sculptural project of Desque. It is a post-industrial translation of pre-industrial blacksmithed ironworks. It works from the ironwork of Jean Tijou, Samuel Yellin, and the wider decorative arts, translating foliate, figurative, and architectural vocabulary into contemporary industrial materials and the off-the-shelf railing components that are the direct descendants of that tradition.
